How is Pebble a Threat to Mcneil River?

The Pebble Partnership’s plan of putting a giant copper and gold mine in the headwaters of the Bristol Bay salmon fishery threatens an important food resource for the bears of McNeil River.

The associated infrastructure would serve to fragment the best bear habitat in the world and cut off migration routes.

The precedent and the infrastructure the mine opens up the whole Alaska Peninsula to further mining development to the detriment of the bears’ habitat.
